Bambusa chungii

Chungii Blue Bamboo

Chungii is a stunning bamboo plant variety. The new shoots and young culms are white with a bluish hue. This is emphasised beautifully as the bamboo foliage starts a couple of metres up the culms.

A non-invasive open clumping variety, Chungii bamboo’s new shoots and young culms are white with a bluish hue. The clump has an open upright form with a dark evergreen leaf mass, giving it a tidy appearance. Chungii has a vigorous growth habit and can withstand cold windy weather. Used as a tall upright screen or a stunning garden feature plant. Chungii can also be used to make paper and for basket weaving as well as a multitude of craft applications.
