18 September (World Bamboo Day), BSA, Standards Australia and Deloitte joined forces online to release the evidence base for a nationally competitive Australian bamboo industry, from crop to construction specification

At our event, we shared three key milestones:

• BSA’s 10-year roadmap, launched
• Deloitte’s economic analysis, presented
• A new Bamboo Standards Report, introduced

Our opportunity

Deloitte Access Economics modelling shows a high-growth Australian industry could
deliver by 2035:

• Up to A$847 million annual market
• Approximately A$906 million contribution to GDP
• 1,840 additional jobs
• 250,000 m3 annual production
• Material equivalent for 16,600 homes
• 430,000 tonnes CO2-e avoided annually
• Around 1.5% of Australia’s current upfront embodied
  built-environment emissions.
